Going to your first car meet: what to know
2026-07-28
Your first car meet feels more intimidating than it actually is. Most attendees are there to look at cars and talk, not to judge your build.
You don't need a modified car to show up. Most meets, especially Cars & Coffee-style ones, are open to anyone who wants to be there, modified or not. Arrive on time, since most meets thin out as the morning goes on.
Don't bring a big group for your first visit. Going alone or with one friend makes it easier to join conversations already happening, instead of standing apart as your own separate group.
Use a platform with guest RSVP or open access, like some meetings on RoadStr, so you know in advance you're welcome without having to join a crew first. See our etiquette guide for what's expected of you once you're there.
